Marine Environmental Indicators

The Marine Environmental Indicators (MEI) VLab allows users to monitor and assess the environmental status of marine areas and support the decision-making process for ocean management. Users can generate information on the following indicators:

Ocean climatologies and means;
Ocean patterns and ocean regimes indicators;
Storm Severity Index (SSI);
Easy access to carbon data;
Enhanced Storm Severity Index (SSIv2) (in development);
Ocean Heat Content (OHC) (in development);
Trophic Index (TRIX) (in development);
Marine Heat Wave (MHW)(in development).

Blue Cloud added value:
The innovative services available in the Blue Cloud VRE are key to develop this work. Multiple data sources are exploited in a unique data analysis service developed in Jupyter Notebooks within the VRE and using a customized web application that exploits the VRE Analytics Engine services such as the Cloud Computing Platform.
